Description

We are seeking a Tax Manager to lead our Hyderabad tax team, providing professional guidance and support, including technical tax training, preparing and conducting detailed-review of tax return and provision workpapers for US federal, state, and US/International tax deliverables.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of US federal and state income tax, exceptional analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and mentor Hyderabad-based tax team, providing technical income tax training as well as professional and career development support.
  • Oversee and review US federal and State tax return workpapers, tax returns, tax provision workpapers (including FIN48), US/international inputs such as GILTI, FDII, and FTC, and quarterly estimated federal and state tax calculations as well as payment processing.
  • Prepare complex tax analyses and workpapers, and take ownership of ad hoc tax research/projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all US and State compliance deliverables, including quarterly and annual filings.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting US tax compliance and communicate updates to the team.
  • Support US tax audits and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Other Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff in other tax areas, including transfer pricing and indirect tax, to ensure local team is properly supported for career development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, business partners) to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
  • Identify transformation and automation opportunities while supervising tax processes and partnering with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in US tax compliance, with 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Deep expertise in US federal and state tax compliance, including training, preparation, and review of deliverables.
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740, FIN48).
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and project management abilities.
  • Familiarity with tax automation technologies including Alteryx, Power BI, and Oracle to improve process efficiency.
