Senior Data Scientist, People Analytics & Research

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the People Analytics & Research team at Airbnb. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to high-stakes research projects, applying causal inference and quasi-experimental methods to people-related business problems. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, gathering and analyzing relevant data, and translating insights into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to understand people-related business problems and gather relevant data
• Utilize statistical models and data science methodologies to gain insights and drive strategy
• Translate data and insights into meaningful visualizations and stories to drive decision-making
• Lead the team's compensation analytics and design and measurement of Airbnb's quality-of-hire metric
• Be a constant learner, active listener, and teacher to advance data science and people analytics

Requirements:

• 5+ years of industry experience and a Master's degree/PhD in a quantitative field
• Deep experience with causal inference on observational data and quasi-experimental research design and analysis
• Proficiency in R or Python for statistical analysis, and SQL for data access
• Familiarity with survey design and analysis
• Experience applying data science to compensation, recruiting, or broader workforce and organizational questions
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to cross-functional partners
