Take your critical care expertise to the next level as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena, Texas.
As an ACC-accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and a certified Primary Stroke Center, our high-acuity Intensive Care Unit manages a complex mix of cardiovascular, medical, surgical, neurological, and trauma cases backed by 24/7 dedicated cardiac catheterization labs.
In this vital role, you will practice at the peak of your license, utilizing your advanced assessment skills to lead life-saving resuscitations, manage mechanical ventilation, and titrate high-alert vasoactive infusions.
Responsibilities
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
- Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance the exceptional care provided to patients.
- Manages the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License.
- Current BLS and ACLS issued from American Heart Association required.
- NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- 1 year of RN experience in a Critical Care – ICU, MICU, SICU, CVICU, Neuro or Trauma in hospital setting required.
