Assistant Manager, Life Underwriting

As an Assistant Manager, Life Underwriting, you will review and analyse new insurance applications for risk exposure and compliance with underwriting guidelines and risk management principles. You will also negotiate with reinsurers for reinsurance related matters.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining high-quality communication with key sales representatives to ensure smooth business flow
• Providing training to sales representatives to enhance their underwriting knowledge
• Offering expert technical advice and premier service
• Resolving appeals and complaints relating to underwriting
• Addressing escalated underwriting issues with flexible solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree holder with professional insurance qualifications such as FLMI, ACS, ALU or equivalent
• Minimum 6 years of solid underwriting experience in life insurance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Underwriting medical authority of not less than extra mortality 100%, with high net worth experience preferable
• Good integrity, quality-oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and independent thinking
• Leadership and team-building skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Mandarin)
