Senior Counsel, Data Privacy and Governance

NVIDIA is looking for an experienced privacy attorney to join our Legal team as Privacy Senior Counsel. In this role, you will be a key partner to our business and legal teams, focusing on vendor contract review and the governance of outbound data sharing with third parties.

You will report to the Director of Data Governance and Privacy in our Legal Department and work closely with colleagues across the legal team as our privacy program continues to grow.

Our highly respected legal team provides innovative legal solutions to help make NVIDIA the world leader in high performance computing.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts and data processing agreements (DPAs), with a focus on privacy, data use, and security provisions.
• Advising on outbound data sharing arrangements with third parties, including conducting data transfer risk assessments and ensuring appropriate contractual safeguards are in place.
• Supporting the build-out of scalable processes and playbooks for vendor privacy review and third-party data sharing.
• Consulting with business partners on privacy considerations arising from new products, partnerships, and data initiatives.
• Partnering with members of the legal and privacy team on a range of data governance and privacy matters, including drafting guidelines and contributing to training materials.
• Growing into broader privacy and data governance responsibilities as the program evolves.

Requirements:

• J.D. degree with a record of strong academic performance.
• 8+ years of privacy law experience, including hands-on work with vendor contracts, DPAs, and/or data sharing agreements, gained at a law firm, in-house, or both.
• A license to practice law in California required.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, including writing, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
• A practical, business-minded approach to legal risk, with the ability to provide clear, actionable guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience at a technology company or in a practice group focused on technology transactions or data privacy.
• Familiarity with AI, data governance, or cybersecurity legal issues , or a desire to develop expertise in these areas.
• You’ll have a CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or similar privacy certification.
• A history of building or contributing to scalable legal processes and internal resources.
