Description

Electronic Arts is seeking a Client Engineer to work on an unannounced 3A project. The successful candidate will develop and maintain features and content for the game client, primarily using C++ and visual scripting.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve game client technical issues to ensure a stable and high-quality gameplay experience.
  • Develop new features and maintain existing systems using C++ and visual scripting within the internal engine.
  • Interpret game design requirements and implement game content and platform features.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, producers, and game designers to deliver the overall vision of the game.
  • Maintain code quality through code reviews, testing, and bug fixing.
  • Integrate and maintain third-party libraries and SDKs.
  • Support cross-functional teams by developing tools and improving workflows.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of software development experience, preferably in the video game industry with live-service experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C++.
  • Experience developing a variety of game features and content, with a strong understanding of UI/UX implementation workflows.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and software architecture.
  • Demonstrated understanding of software engineering best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  • Experience shipping at least one commercial video game title; live-service experience is a plus.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in networking, rendering, AI, or animation systems is a plus.
  • Experience with or knowledge of visual scripting systems or equivalent UI frameworks used in commercial game engines.
  • Experience with or knowledge of mobile game development is not required but would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with modern AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools.
  • Passion for video games and a commitment to creating high-quality player experiences.
