Description
As an Engineering Technician at GDIT, you will make meaningful contributions that fuel critical outcomes for complex government, defense, and intelligence projects.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Testing, repairing, installing, replacing, and troubleshooting electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and connectors
- Using hand tools and testing equipment to inspect and test electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits
- Isolating defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment
- Replacing faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems
- Dismantling electrical machinery and replacing defective electrical or mechanical parts
- Mounting motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completing circuits according to diagram specifications
- Working from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Participating in special projects as required
- Obtaining necessary badges (DBIDS and shipyard)
- Working on and climbing ladders, in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces
- Lifting, carrying, and transporting heavy equipment and boxes up to 75 lbs
- Traveling within and outside of the continental United States for up to 20% of the time
Requirements:
- 1+ years of related experience
- Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
- Secret clearance required
- US Citizenship required
