Stamping Development Senior Engineer

We are seeking a Stamping Development Senior Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Marysville, Ohio. The successful candidate will deliver early planning and engineering solutions with agility and cost competitiveness across Product, Process, and Tooling to improve North American manufacturing characteristics.

Job Purpose: Delivers early planning and engineering solutions with agility and cost competitiveness across Product, Process and Tooling to improve North American (NA) manufacturing characteristics.

Key Accountabilities:

• Supports advance Body Frame Stamping product feasibility from styling sketch through 1st drawing issue for New Model Body in White construction. Creates part data proposals, tool process plan specification and rough layout using CAE simulation and CAD. Reports technical criteria to Category Technical Expert and New Model Project Leadership.
• Leads Manufacturing Stamping New Model Tool verification check list requirements and drawing maturation across N.A. DEBQ functions.
• Supports the development of New Model Stamping Tooling specifications/process plan from 1st drawing to Die GO. Provide direct technical guidance and oversight to downstream customers to ensure successful design and production deliverables are met. Monitors Design Change through drawing maturation.
• Supports complex manufacturing category problem analysis, determine root causes, recommend corrective action, and set SAP(Specific Action Plan) in the New Model development.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent related experience.
• 2+ years relevant full-time engineering experience or equivalent, expert knowledge of Equipment/Tool New Model, expert knowledge of Automotive Production facilities.
• Problem solving analysis and breakdown to root cause.
• Knowledge of Honda New Model development and Manufacturing.
• Experienced in automotive sheet metal forming.
• MS Office, CATIA V5, CATIA V6, and AutoForm proficient.

Working Conditions:

• 10% Travel, 5 to 10 hours of OT per week
• Primarily office environment, with capability to work on the production floor to understand equipment and Plant perspective
