Description
GDIT is seeking a Marine Electrician to support the SACSS program in Seattle, Washington. This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, installing, replacing, and testing electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and connectors.
Responsibilities:
- Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and connectors.
- Use hand tools and testing equipment.
- Inspect and test electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
- Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment.
- Replace faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
- Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.
- Mount motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and complete circuits according to diagram specifications.
- Work from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Obtain all necessary badges (DBIDS and shipyard).
- Work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
- Lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 75 lbs.
- Travel within and outside of the continental United States may be required for 20% of the time.
Requirements:
- US Citizen
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of related experience
- Cableway Certified, Connector Certified, Modular, COAX, Multi-Pin, Connector Fabricator and Inspector, Connector Trained and Qualified with 40 hours OJT, Fiber Optic Cable Handling, Pulling, Forming/Shaping, BOF, Single/Multi, Optical Testing, Fusion Splicing
