Description
We are seeking a Designer/Engineer – Substation Engineering Contractor Oversight to join our team at the Forest Park General Services Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. This role involves overseeing engineering, design, and coordination of substation projects completed by outside design engineering firms.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety above all else, leading by example
- Provide oversight and technical assistance to external engineering firms
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of completed substation design packages
- Coordinate with other departments, interact with manufacturers and vendors, and provide support to various teams
- Perform site visits for projects, participate in substation design review meetings, and support design criteria and standardization efforts
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and use effective time management and organizational skills
- Provide assistance as part of a storm restoration team after major storm events
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (Engineer) or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology (Designer)
- Substation design or field experience required; Project Management experience preferred
- Experience providing Quality Assurance reviews, mentoring, and performance feedback preferred
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products and Autodesk Suite preferred
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and team collaboration skills
