Description
We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Structures to join our team in India.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing feasibility study reports, working with the WSP UK Team to assemble design specifications, and carrying out detailed design to WSP and B Regulations standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing feasibility study reports and reviewing them with the Associate/Principal Engineer of Structures
- Working with the WSP UK Team to assemble design specifications and monitoring their preparation
- Carrying out detailed design to WSP and B Regulations standards, including complex calculations and coordination issues
- Reviewing and monitoring the production of calculations, including QA and technical reviews
- Ensuring that information for project costing preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines
- Providing documentary information to assist in the preparation of tender documents
- Dealing with day-to-day queries from the WSP UK Team
- Reporting any variance between the works constructed and the design intent
- Leading the design process and encouraging the team to deliver cost-effective solutions
- Following document control, archiving CDM, and QA processes
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in the design of Building Structures
- British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Membership to an accredited engineering body
- Good management, communication, and technical skills
- Experience with technical structural software such as RAM, CSC, ETabs
- Fluency in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology
