Description
TaskUs is seeking a Calibration & Synchronization Engineer to join their team.
The Calibration & Synchronization Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for the spatial and temporal precision of the client's capture systems. Using internal, pre-built ROS2 software tools, you will execute routine calibrations, validate multi-sensor timing, and run daily accuracy checks. As the auditable technician of record, your rigorous attention to detail ensures that all data collected is certified, accurate, and properly logged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Calibration & Validation: Execute rig-level calibration and multi-sensor timing synchronization using pre-built tools and scripts.
- Daily Accuracy Checks: Run daily diagnostic routines to detect spatial drift or timing skews; re-certify calibration bundles when hardware is adjusted.
- ROS2 Operation: Utilize ROS2 command-line tools to launch nodes, monitor diagnostic data streams, and verify system health.
- Auditability & Certification: Serve as the designated technician of record for calibration artifacts. Maintain pristine chain-of-custody logs and documentation for all rig calibrations.
- Pipeline Troubleshooting: Flag and report spatial deformations, dropped frames, or sync anomalies to the core development team for deeper investigation.
Required Qualifications:
- Practical experience in technical testing, QA, hardware systems, or calibration operations (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, robotics, or AV fleets).
- Proficiency with ROS2 at an operator level (e.g., comfortable navigating the terminal, launching nodes, checking topics/messages, and reading basic logs).
- Exceptional attention to detail and experience working in environments that require formal logging, signing off on tasks, or maintaining quality assurance records.
- Working understanding of hardware sensors (cameras, IMUs, LiDAR) and physical coordinate frames.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic Python or shell scripting skills for running and making minor adjustments to existing calibration scripts.
- Educational background or equivalent practical experience in engineering, robotics, or a related technical discipline.
Benefits: At TaskUs, we prioritize our employees' well-being by offering competitive industry salaries and comprehensive benefits packages.
