Description
We are seeking a Software Engineer - Test & Automation to validate, test, troubleshoot, and improve networking products and solutions. You will work closely with Product Management, Systems Engineering, and Development teams to ensure networking features, architectures, and releases meet quality, functionality, and customer requirements. You will develop automation tools and test frameworks to improve validation efficiency and product quality.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and validation procedures for networking products and solutions.
- Perform feature, system, integration, and regression testing to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex networking and software issues.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and frameworks using Python.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Development, and Quality Engineering teams.
- Participate in validation of networking reference designs and customer deployment scenarios.
- Identify, document, reproduce, and track defects through resolution.
- Contribute to release readiness and product quality initiatives.
- Create technical documentation and validation reports.
- Work effectively within globally distributed engineering teams.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree and typically 5+ years of relevant experience in networking, validation engineering, testing, or quality engineering.
Knowledge and Skills - Required:
- Strong Python programming, scripting, or automation experience.
- Software testing and validation methodologies.
- Test automation development and debugging skills.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Experience working with automation frameworks or automated testing solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Experience working in Linux or similar development environments.
Knowledge and Skills - Preferred:
- Networking fundamentals.
- TCP/IP knowledge.
- Routing and switching concepts.
- Exposure to networking products or infrastructure environments.
- BGP, OSPF, or MPLS knowledge.
- Network testing and validation experience.
- CI/CD tools and test automation pipelines.
- Enterprise or data-center networking exposure.
