Description
We are seeking a Financial Crime Data Analyst to join our transaction monitoring team at Barclays in Glasgow. You will design, develop, implement, and maintain various statistical, mathematical, and machine learning models to support decision-making by analysing and solving complex problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire and collect data from various sources, including internal databases, external datasets, and real-time feeds.
- Perform data cleaning and pre-processing tasks to ensure data quality and suitability for model development.
- Design and implement data management strategies for model maintenance and future development.
- Develop, implement, and monitor statistical and machine learning models for applications such as credit risk assessment, fraud detection, customer segmentation, and marketing optimisation.
- Lead training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance machine learning capabilities across the organisation.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to keep the organisation at the forefront of AI innovation.

Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
- Strong analytical skills, rule development skills, and understanding of machine learning.
- Subject matter expert knowledge in transaction monitoring, money laundering, and financial crime analytics tasks.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of risk coverage related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Familiarity with the current regulatory landscape within financial crime compliance.
- Background in mathematics or statistics, including areas such as probability, machine learning, and AI.
