Description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology.

As a Mission Software Engineer - Undersea Reconnaissance & Strike, you will be responsible for debugging and fixing issues in the codebase, working closely with the team to resolve problems and improve the system.

Responsibilities:

  • Take a field-reported anomaly and figure out what subsystem it's actually in
  • Reproduce the issue for real
  • Use metrics and log infrastructure to reconstruct system state
  • Confirm the fix in a simulated environment
  • Write the fix in the relevant language
  • Write down root cause and fix for every issue closed

Requirements:

  • Real experience debugging code under time pressure
  • Comfort in at least two of Rust, modern C++, Python, Go
  • Systems-debugging instincts
  • Exposure to observability tooling
  • Linux and systems fluency

Nice to have:

  • Robotics middleware experience
  • Simulation-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop test setups
  • CI/CD and versioned deployment experience
  • On-call or field-support experience

This is a real entry point, not a holding pen. Do this well and you'll know more of the stack than most people who joined doing greenfield feature work , and that's exactly who ends up owning subsystems and driving roadmap next.

The salary range for this role is $166,000-$220,000 USD per year.
