The Alexa Shopping team in Bangalore is seeking a Software Development Engineer to deliver strategic goals for the Shopping suite of products.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will design, manage, and own technologies in Alexa Shopping programs and have significant influence on the overall strategy by helping define new product features, drive system architecture, and spearhead best practices that enable a quality product.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement software solutions that address customer needs, balancing functional and non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, and security.
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including product definition, scoping, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing operational support, ensuring root causes of issues are identified and permanently resolved.
- Write high-quality, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to teammates and coaching others on best practices for logical, maintainable software.
- Evaluate new tools and approaches, including generative artificial intelligence, to improve engineering workflows and recommend adoption where appropriate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to understand business context, prioritize effectively, and deliver incremental improvements that enhance customer experience and system reliability.
The team focuses on building reliable, scalable software that serves Alexa shopping customers, especially in the Quick commerce space. They value collaboration, technical rigor, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Basic qualifications:
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred qualifications:
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
