Principal, Electrical Engineer

The Anduril Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team is on a mission to build next-generation solid rocket motors for a safer, more connected world.

As the Principal Electrical Engineer, you will specify, design, develop, and install devices used to collect data on solid rocket motor burn performance.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze current equipment and identify areas for improvement
• Design and develop instrumentation to meet those needs
• Collaborate with other engineers to develop accurate and efficient equipment
• Design and test prototypes of equipment
• Oversee implementation of new measuring devices and control systems
• Act as project engineer for design, prototype fabrication, and manufacturing development
• Develop cable drawings and interface with low-voltage interfaces
• Draft and present formal technical documents and reports

Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years of experience with design, development, and installation of sensors
• Experience with NI Labview or NI DAQmx
• Understanding of signal conditioning and analog circuit design
• Knowledge of analog-to-digital conversion process and digital circuit design
• Experience with computer-controlled data acquisition and computer applications
• Ability to select correct sensors and design placement for solid rocket motor performance metrics
• Thorough understanding of applied math and physics
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and computer-aided design software
• Ability to write and understand Python
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
