Description

At Databricks, you'll join CustomerLake, an NYC-based engineering organisation building a new generation of agentic customer-data applications.

The team is developing Customer Data Platform capabilities across Customer 360, Reverse ETL, Customer Intelligence, and Profile Agents, helping customers unify and activate customer data, understand their customers, and automate complex workflows.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll focus on the enterprise capabilities that make these products secure, controllable, and scalable for large organisations.

Responsibilities:

  • Build enterprise capabilities for large organisations to securely adopt, administer, and scale CustomerLake products
  • Design and develop robust permissions, roles, and access-control systems for complex enterprise environments
  • Build auditability and governance capabilities for administrators to monitor user activity, configuration changes, and sensitive operations
  • Develop pricing, entitlement, usage, and product controls to configure and manage product consumption across teams and users
  • Design scalable backend services, APIs, and data models for intuitive administrative and management experiences
  • Translate complex requirements from Data, IT, Security, and Platform administrators into simple, reliable product experiences
  • Own projects end-to-end, from architecture and technical design through implementation, launch, and iteration
  • Collaborate with product management, design, security, infrastructure, and other engineering teams to shape CustomerLake's enterprise product strategy

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems
  • Deep backend engineering experience with the ability to work across the full stack and own features end-to-end
  • Experience building enterprise SaaS products or working on enterprise-focused engineering teams
  • Experience with permissions and access controls, authorization systems, audit logs, entitlements, pricing or usage controls, governance, security, or administrative tooling
  • Experience designing scalable backend services, APIs, data models, and distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of the needs of Data, IT, Security, or Platform administrators
  • Demonstrated product mindset with the ability to turn complex enterprise requirements into intuitive solutions
  • High ownership and bias for action in 0-to-1 environments
  • Strong experience with server-side technologies such as Java, Python, Scala, Go, Node.js, C++
  • Experience with modern frontend technologies such as React, Angular, Vue.js
