The marine industry supports recreation, global commerce, and national defense. Yet it runs on technology that hasn't meaningfully changed in fifty years. Arc is on a mission to electrify the marine industry by rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles.
As Arc's Staff Technical Program Manager for Commercial, you will own commercial programs from award through delivery, starting with a $160M contract to deliver a fleet of electric tugboats. This involves owning schedule, scope, and risk for commercial programs from design through production and delivery, contributing delivery and performance inputs to proposals, and owning the working relationship with shipyards and build partners.
Responsibilities:
- Own schedule, scope, and risk for commercial powertrain programs from design through production and delivery
- Partner with commercial sales leaders to translate won deals into structured, executable programs
- Contribute delivery and performance inputs to bids
- Pressure-test delivery feasibility and timelines
- Own the working relationship with shipyards and build partners
- Run the internal operating cadence for new deals and active programs
- Synthesize feedback from new deals and active programs to inform product roadmap, pricing, and commercial playbooks
- Build program-management processes and tooling
- Travel to partner companies to coordinate design and build activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary hardware programs
- Background in marine/shipbuilding, EV/battery, aerospace, defense, or hardware technology program management
- Proficiency with program planning
- Experience working across the sales-to-execution boundary
- Ability to communicate and persuade across engineering, manufacturing, sales, executives, and customers
- Experience owning a vendor or build-partner relationship directly
- This position requires access to information controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations
Bonus Qualifications:
- Familiarity with government contracting
- Experience in marine classification processes or high-voltage/battery systems
- Experience standing up program-management processes in a scaling organization
