Description
Growth design at Mercury requires a similar range as Charles and Ray Eames' work – a way of thinking that studies how people behave, experiments constantly, and moves fluidly between details and systems.
The Growth teams work across the customer journey, from discovery to becoming a customer, finding value, and bringing others along. This role involves leading and developing a team of designers working across Conversion, Activation, and Virality, partnering with Product and Engineering to identify opportunities, and building a Growth design practice that balances experimentation and exceptional craft.
In this role, you'll:
- Lead and develop designers working across Mercury's Growth organization
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to shape Growth strategy and identify high-leverage opportunities
- Help teams move from intuition to learning through experimentation and customer insight
- Raise the quality bar across a broad set of experiences
- Create clarity across an ambiguous problem space
- Build systems and operating practices that allow Growth Design to scale
- Grow the team thoughtfully
You should:
- Have experience leading and developing high-performing product or growth designers
- Have a track record of using design to drive measurable business outcomes
- Be an excellent design thinker with strong visual and product judgment
- Be comfortable moving between leadership modes
- Care deeply about developing people
- Be curious about why people behave the way they do
- Be comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment
