Staff Engineer - Money, Risk & Payment Ancillaries

Yuno is looking for a Staff Engineer to lead the technical direction of its Money, Risk & Payment Ancillaries business unit.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a zero-tolerance-for-failure environment, where you will architect foundational systems for risk, fraud, scams, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks.

Key responsibilities:

• Cross-domain architecture and technical leadership across risk, fraud, scams, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks
• Designing and building bank-grade, resilient systems with a focus on real-time risk decisioning and financial correctness
• Championing a 'You Build It, You Run It' culture with a focus on multi-tenancy, elastic scaling, and automated observability
• Mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects

Requirements:

• Extensive software engineering experience with deep expertise in Go and/or Kotlin
• Proven track record of architecting robust, scalable, and maintainable distributed systems
• Experience building financial or risk-critical systems with a strong grasp of design patterns and best practices
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native services
• Excellent automated testing practices and technical leadership skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Domain expertise in fraud/risk scoring models, double-entry ledgers, chargeback and dispute frameworks, or APP-scam prevention
• Experience with data-intensive and streaming systems, such as Kafka or event sourcing
• Background in the payments or fintech industry, operating at global scale
