Speech and Language Pathologist

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Special Education Speech-Language Pathologist at Barber Preparatory Academy in Highland Park, Michigan.

The Special Education Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides comprehensive speech-language pathology services to students with disabilities in the school setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality speech-language therapy services to students in grades K-8
• Conduct standardized and non-standardized assessments, analyze results, and write reports
• Develop treatment plans that are strength-based and child-centered
• Ensure IEP, evaluation, and progress monitoring procedures adhere to district, state, and federal guidelines
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other members of a student's educational team
• Demonstrate knowledge of Common Core Standards and align them with treatment objectives
• Develop and communicate a daily schedule
• Attend staff meetings and pursue professional development
• Facilitate effective student communication abilities
• Participate in building-based intervention processes

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance preferred
• Experience providing speech-language evaluations, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapy services to school-age students preferred
