Description
We are seeking a skilled F-15C Simulator Technician I to join our team at Tyndall AFB, Florida. As a Simulator Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the F-15C Weapons and Tactics Trainers.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will assist with operations, repairs, tests, installations, configurations, and upgrades of simulators and training components. You will work under partial supervision and collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot systems and support equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with operations, repairs, tests, installations, configurations, and upgrades of simulators and training components
- Modify simulators and training components, devices, hardware, and software
- Perform general inspections for pre-operations, post-operations, and component handling of training devices, assemblies, and components
- Inspect components and/or Line-Replaceable Units to verify status prior to installation
- Troubleshoot to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
- Assist instructors/aircrews during scheduled training missions
- Perform logistical, administrative, and other collateral duties as necessary to maintain the training devices
- Occasional travel required for urgent simulator maintenance activities and/or training opportunities
Requirements:
- 1+ years of higher education and/or related work experience
- Ability to obtain access to Special Access Program (SAP)
- Ability to obtain CompTIA Security + Certification within 90 days of start
- Ability to work a rotating shift
- Ability to climb ladders at heights up to 15 feet and stairs on a regular basis
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in related work experience
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance with U.S. citizenship
- SAP Access
- F-15 (or comparable fighter-type) flight line avionics background
- Experience in electronics, computer information systems, visual display systems, and/or simulation systems
