Diesel Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Kearny, NJ. As a Diesel Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our engine products.

Responsibilities:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance and repairs using diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Participate in ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain your own tools

Requirements:

• Experience in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
• Ability to work under direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
• Understanding of engine repair process information sources
• Familiarity with after-treatment systems and diesel engine components
• Basic knowledge of engine diagnostic software

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary rate commensurate with experience ($58,560 - $87,840 per year)

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (preferred)
• Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
• Locally valid driving permit (preferred)

Experience:

• Minimal level of workshop experience required
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
• Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision
