Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're seeking a Sr. Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to work across the AWS Organization to align on short- and long-range demand plans for APAC data center capacity and infrastructure response.
You will oversee the forecasting process, establish capacity plans, and manage strategic execution while implementing process innovations and improvements to positively evolve forecasting models. You will conduct modeling and scenario analysis, make data-driven recommendations, and partner with key stakeholders to bridge changes in demand and address short- and long-term capacity constraints.
Key responsibilities:
- Streamline reporting, benchmark forecasting assumptions, and highlight key supportability risks for stakeholders.
- Dive deep into planning models to identify risks and opportunities for region health and resolve constraints by negotiating across demand and supply owners.
- Execute capacity delivery planning for short-term (0-24 months) with responsibilities to identify capacity risks, develop, and initiate capacity shortfall mitigation strategies.
- Manage capacity build and position inventory, including rack retirement and migration planning, coordinating network requirements, addressing position usability defects, and managing power usage optimization projects.
- Identify opportunities to invent and simplify processes, identify business risks, and implement resolutions and scalable mechanisms.
- Communicate ideas concisely to a wide variety of stakeholders for purposes ranging from informative to seeking approvals from executives.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of program management or technical project management experience, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field, and 5+ years of data center or network capacity planning, data center or network infrastructure program/project management, or related technical experience. Proficiency in Excel and SQL is required.
