Description
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield. This is a part-time role for 30 hours a week, with a flexible shift pattern including evening and weekend shifts. The successful candidate will assist patients with personal hygiene, eating, and mobility needs, while also providing comfort and emotional support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs
- Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support
- Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives
- Carry out and accurately record routine observations
- Support basic clinical procedures
- Prepare and maintain clinical areas
- Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a care or health support role
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
- Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures
