Chief of Staff, Public Sector Engineering

As the Chief of Staff for Scale AI's Public Sector business unit, you will be a strategic partner to the VP, Public Sector Engineering, driving critical initiatives and optimizing operations.

Your role will encompass strategic planning, cross-functional initiatives management, executive reporting, special project execution, and synthesizing complex information to support Public Sector objectives and growth.

Responsibilities:

• Act as an extension of the VP, Public Sector Engineering, attending key meetings and calls, supporting client development, external presentations, internal problem-solving, and special projects
• Run strategic planning for the business unit, scoping priorities, driving alignment, and leading initiatives that impact key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Own operational rhythms for the business unit, including leadership meetings, all-hands, offsite events, executive deliverables, and special projects
• Own executive-level reporting, communicating progress and blockers, and act as the primary liaison to central functions like finance, communications, marketing, and legal

Requirements:

• Strong orientation towards outcomes and a history of being scrappy when needed
• Effective interpersonal style for technical conversations and executive-level communications
• Proven ability to build high-trust relationships with a wide range of people
• Experience leading small teams and managing multiple, complex work streams
• Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
• Deep intellectual curiosity about AI and machine learning, particularly in national security applications

Nice to haves:

• Top Secret U.S. security clearance
• 4+ years of experience in a highly strategic, analytical, and operational role
• 2+ years of experience in top-tier consulting, venture capital, or tech
• MBA, JD, or technical degree from a top program
• Experience using Python, SQL, or similar analytical tools

Compensation and benefits:

• Base salary range: $158,400-$198,000 USD
