As a Principal Product Manager, AI Assistant, you'll define how Gusto's conversational assistant works, behaves, and earns customer trust, giving small businesses superpowers to get real work done.
About the Role: You'll develop a deep understanding of small businesses' workflows, lead the product vision for Gusto's conversational assistant, expand its capabilities, and partner with engineering and design teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of small businesses' workflows and pain points
- Lead the product vision for Gusto's conversational assistant
- Expand the assistant's capabilities across payroll, benefits, HR, and compliance
- Partner with engineering and data teams on technical trade-offs
- Partner with design and UXR to understand customer needs and preferences
- Move fast and set a pace that reflects speed as a top priority
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience as a product manager
- Experience owning meaningful scope and driving broad product or platform-level decisions
- Comfortable in a high-visibility role engaging with leadership and product leaders
- Belief in AI's potential for small businesses and excitement to build it
- Hands-on experience building trusted AI products
- Comfortable spanning platform thinking and UX/experience judgment

Salary: $179,000/yr to $220,000/yr in Denver & most major metro locations, and $210,000/yr to $260,000/yr for San Francisco, Seattle & New York
