Weekend Anchor/MSJ

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Weekend Evening Anchor for our newscasts on Saturdays and Sundays at KREM 2, a TEGNA-owned station. As a Weekend Anchor, you will demonstrate superior on-camera communication skills and engage in spontaneous conversation with other on-air team members.

Responsibilities:

• Anchor weekend evening newscasts and other newscasts as assigned
• Write and copy edit stories under deadline
• Lead coverage decisions and breaking news response on weekend shifts
• Train and mentor weekend staff
• On reporting days, identify and pitch multiple story possibilities, gather, shoot, write, and edit news stories under deadline
• Produce a digital version of each broadcast story and mobile short stories in real-time

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or communication preferred
• Three to five years of experience in daily journalism, including regular opportunities to anchor newscasts
• Thorough understanding of journalism practices and ethics

Pay Range: $26.44-$29.80 USD
