## Description

As an Undergraduate UX/UI Design Intern in the Safety & Industrial Business Group (SIBG) team, you will help shape user-centered digital experiences that support industrial safety, productivity, and efficiency.

You’ll work closely with UX Designers, Design Researchers, and technical and business partners on projects that make a meaningful impact within 3M’s digital ecosystem.

Key expectations for this role include:

- Contributing to UX and UI design for digital tools and software used in industrial and safety applications.

- Building your skills through project work, designer feedback, and mentorship.

- Applying user-centered design methods with support from senior UX Designers and Researchers.

- Assisting with user research, synthesizing findings, and translating insights into design recommendations.

- Participating in design critiques, workshops, and cross-functional project discussions.

- Creating UX deliverables such as user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation.

Requirements:

- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or higher, from an accredited institution.

- Experience using Figma.

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience or coursework in UX/UI projects developing user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation.

- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design, Brand Design, Design Communication, Industrial Design, UX/UI Design, or a related field from an accredited institution.

- Experience or coursework in areas such as brand design, visual communication, UX/UI design, industrial design, product design, design research, or digital experience design.

- Working knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Miro, SolidWorks, Sketchbook Pro, or similar design software.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

This is an internship position, working a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment, limited to 899 hours per service credit year.

The work location is on-site, with employees working at least four (4) days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Maplewood, MN. Travel may include up to 10% domestic travel.

3M provides eligible interns with a housing and transportation stipend in accordance with current policy.
