## Description

Working in our UK support functions, you'll play a key part in helping our customer-facing colleagues deliver exceptional standards of customer service and patient care.

We're looking to appoint a seasoned buyer to help support our procurement. This is a highly commercial role combining a high degree of stakeholder engagement with the need to prioritise and be self-motivated. The Buyer is accountable for their specific category, with responsibility to ensure products and services are sourced competitively and cost-effectively, which includes identifying and delivering cost savings.

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive category/purchasing plan with a clear savings/opportunity pipeline.

- Establish or follow category priorities based on benefits, opportunities, and business requirements.

- Actively set, lead, and drive the timeline for sourcing initiatives.

- Lead contract negotiations on behalf of the organisation and develop negotiation plans.

- Develop innovative solutions by challenging the status quo and business requirements.

- Interface with stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood.

- Actively contribute to meetings and events, and be a Procurement advocate, positively raising the profile of Procurement throughout the organisation.

- Maintain commercial confidentiality and conduct supplier relationships with the highest standard of ethical conduct.

**Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:**

- Ideally holds a Graduate Degree.

- Desirable MCIPS qualified or studying towards this qualification.

- Sourcing experience and expertise.

- Experience of delivering savings through driving sourcing and category procurement activities.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Comprehensive experience of working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a successful commercial outcome.
