## Description

The Immigrant Youth Casework Intern will support the Miami-Dade-based Immigrant Youth team in delivering essential services to immigrant children and their families.

Key responsibilities include:

- Identifying and connecting clients with community resources to enhance self-sufficiency

- Participating in community awareness and outreach initiatives

- Assisting caseworkers with tasks such as school enrollment, public benefits applications, making referrals, and client advocacy

- Researching local community resources

- Outreaching to local organizations to establish partnerships

- Managing client case notes and files

- Communicating case statuses and coordinating service plans with the supervisor

The intern will gain knowledge and skills in:

- Solution-oriented, strengths-based care coordination for immigrant families

- Trauma-informed, client-centered care

- Mapping community assets and resources

- Client empowerment and advocacy

**Qualifications:**

- Excellent communication and writing skills

- Organized with attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and under pressure

- Interest in international issues

- Strong desire and enthusiasm to help people

- Computer literacy, preferably with PC systems

- Access to internet

- Valid driver's license and reliable access to an insured vehicle

**Requirements:**

- Pass a background check

- Be at least 18 years old

- Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months

- Submit intern hours on volunteer dashboard

This is a hybrid role, and the internship will be filled on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until August 14th, 2026, or until the position is filled, whichever occurs first. The internship will begin the week of September 8th, 2026.
