At Bayer, we're seeking a Product Development Scientist II to join our cross-functional teams spanning seed and trait product development, plant breeding, genetics, field trials, data analysis, and commercial collaboration to advance high-performing products for North America.

As a Product Development Scientist II, you will lead seed and trait product development activities to advance high-performing products aligned with customer needs, market opportunities, and commercial strategy. You will design, execute, and interpret experiments, field trials, and product evaluation studies to support product advancement, placement, and pipeline decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading seed and trait product development activities to advance high-performing products aligned with customer needs, market opportunities, and commercial strategy

- Designing, executing, and interpreting experiments, field trials, and product evaluation studies to support product advancement, placement, and pipeline decisions

- Applying plant breeding, genetics, statistics, and data analysis to improve product performance, selection accuracy, and decision-making across the product pipeline

- Collaborating across breeding, field testing, data science, operations, and commercial teams to deliver product development milestones and commercialization readiness

- Using digital tools, analytics, and emerging technologies to improve breeding efficiency, pipeline performance, and return on investment

- Translating technical results into clear product insights and recommendations for internal stakeholders, growers, and customer-facing teams

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses a PhD in plant breeding, animal breeding, quantitative genetics, statistical genetics, data science, or a related scientific discipline; or an MS with 5+ years of relevant experience. A strong background in experimental design, field trials, data analysis, and interpretation of product performance results is required. Valid driver's license and ability to travel seasonally for meetings, field sites, and nursery locations are also necessary.

Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. Salary range is $94,000-$135,000 with additional compensation possible.
