As a Senior Backend Engineer at Monzo, you'll collaborate with your team to make a difference to customers. You'll work in a squad alongside other disciplines like product managers, marketers, user researchers, designers, mobile engineers, web engineers, data analysts, business analysts, writers and more!

Your day-to-day will involve building and supporting a particular part of Monzo's banking platform. Our squads belong to our wider collectives, which are self-governing business units of around 100 people. We're looking for engineers to join our collectives, which include Core Banking, Business Banking, Wealth, Borrowing, Growth, Payments, Platform, Fincrime, Security & Expansion.

**Responsibilities**

- Collaborate with your team to make a difference to customers

- Build and support a particular part of Monzo's banking platform

- Work in a squad alongside other disciplines

- Contribute to open source software

**Requirements**

- Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product

- Product mindset: you care about customer outcomes and want to make data-informed decisions

- Comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity

- Experience with strongly-typed languages (Go, Java, C, Scala etc.)
