## Description

As a Senior Manager, Data Scientist at Capital One, you will lead the next wave of disruption in the financial industry using the latest in computing and machine learning technologies.

The Card Fraud Prevention data science team detects and mitigates fraud by building and deploying machine learning models that keep customer accounts safe and compliant.

In this role, you will:

- Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver a product customers love

- Leverage a broad stack of technologies , Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more , to reveal insights hidden within huge volumes of data

- Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

The ideal candidate is:

- Customer-focused, innovative, creative, a leader, technical, statistically-minded, and a data guru

- Has experience with open-source languages, cloud computing platforms, and machine learning

- Can retrieve, combine, and analyze data from various sources and structures

Basic qualifications include:

- A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field

- 7, 5, or 2 years of experience performing data analytics, respectively

- 2 years of experience with open-source programming languages, machine learning, and relational databases

Preferred qualifications include:

- A PhD in a STEM field

- Experience with AWS, people management, Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis, and machine learning

The salary range for this role is: McLean, VA: $229,900 - $262,400 New York, NY: $250,800 - $286,200

This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation.
