## Description

IOM is seeking a National HR Officer to coordinate the Human Resources (HR) functions of the Country Office (CO) in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

The National HR Officer will work under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and direct supervision of Head of Resources Management (RM).

Responsibilities:

- Assist in reviewing and monitoring HR services in the CO

- Supervise maintenance of personnel files and attendance records

- Facilitate upkeep of HR and Training database

- Monitor contractual status and administration of entitlements of local staff

- Coordinate preparation for monthly payroll

- Coordinate with HQ, MAC, and Finance Team on benefits and entitlements for international staff

- Assist in implementing Third-Party Consultancy Management Contract

- Monitor and supervise administration and renewal of visas and residence permits for international staff

- Coordinate recruitment processes in the CO

- Ensure new staff are sufficiently briefed and able to assume functions

- Implement performance management system

- Assist in coordination, planning, and organization of staff development and training activities

- Prepare administrative reports and participate in special HR projects

Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field

- Two years of relevant professional experience

- High level of computer literacy with experience in HR IT systems and applications

- Experience in preparation of training modules and presentation of training sessions

- Previous working experience in an international organization is an advantage

- Familiarity with the UN common system or similar systems is an advantage

- Fluency in English and Tok Pisin required
