## Description

As a DVA Engineer, you will engage at the front end of the conceptual design process and play an integral role in influencing the overall Styling, Design, and Manufacturing concepts of future products.

You will apply 3D Design Variation Analysis (DVA) tools to prove out multiple concepts and validate the effectiveness of the optimal complete vehicle concept.

Responsibilities:

- Apply 3D DVA tools to validate concepts

- Sign off Engineering Releases (ER) across all components for a new model

- Support definition of vehicle level gap and flush targets with Perceived Quality department

- Develop and define a complete dimensional control concept

- Build tolerance simulation models using 3DCS software

- Attend design reviews to support development of the overall vehicle concept

- Raise validated concerns into the McLaren faults management system

- Develop understanding of component manufacturing processes

- Provide input to manufacturing assembly sequence and assembly concept decision making process

- Ensure FT&A/GD&T in released designs is in accordance with BS:8888 ISO:1101

- Provide support in generating datum strategy concepts

- Manage internal training guides and standards for 3DCS model creation

Requirements:

- Degree in mechanical/automotive engineering or similar (2:1 or above)

- Experience with CATIA V5, GD&T, 8D or Practical Problem Solving (PPS), and 3DCS Tolerance analysis software

- Methodical approach to work with strong analytical skills

- Self-starter capable of using initiative

- New product development experience in the Automotive Industry

- Understanding of jig and fixture concepts

- Good problem-solving ability

- Basic understanding of SPC, statistics, and process capabilities
