## Description

We're establishing a team of engineers passionate about software craftsmanship, quality, and meaningful impact. As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll own the technical direction of software that powers the indices trusted by financial institutions worldwide.

You will:

- Design, write, review, and ship production software, primarily in Python

- Own technical direction and architecture for a defined area of the platform

- Lead the design of software systems with resilience, performance, maintainability, and reusability designed in

- Drive engineering quality across the team

- Mentor and coach engineers

- Dig into technical design and risk trade-offs

- Design data-intensive software across relational databases and AWS services

- Build software that processes data at scale on AWS

- Embed observability, automated testing, monitoring, and quality controls

- Take ownership of production outcomes

- Influence and collaborate across engineering teams

You will bring:

- Depth in software design and architecture

- Strong ownership of technical and production outcomes

- Experience with relational databases and AWS

- Excellent communication skills

- A collaborative approach to engineering

Nice to haves:

- Apache Spark / PySpark

- Big data experience

- Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or similar open table formats

- CI/CD tooling

- Infrastructure as code

- Experience in financial markets, index data, or investment analytics
