## Description

We are seeking a Lead Platform Engineer – Vice President to join our Dart platform team, which provides cloud and on-prem infrastructure to front-office developers. As a technically strong hands-on engineering leader, you will spearhead the evolution of our Reference Data Services function.

**Purpose of the role** You will design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

**Accountabilities**

- Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance optimization.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

- Participate in code reviews, promote code quality, and share knowledge with peers.

- Stay updated on industry technology trends and contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster technical excellence and growth.

- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.

- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

**Vice President Expectations**

- Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.

- Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.

- If managing a team, define jobs and responsibilities, plan for departmental future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes.

- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.

- Collaborate with other areas of work to provide business-aligned support.

- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.

**Requirements**

- Proven experience in software/data engineering, ideally in platform or infrastructure roles.

- Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with Java is a plus.

- Deep experience with AWS services (S3, Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, ECS, IAM, KMS, API Gateway, Step Functions, MSK, CloudFormation, etc.).

- Passion for being hands-on while enabling and growing a small engineering team.

**Nice to Have**

- Experience with on-prem Hadoop and Kubernetes.

- Familiarity with cost management and optimization tools, organizational constructs in AWS.

- Knowledge of how quantitative or front-office developers operate.
