## Description

Coordinates and delivers interpretation and translation services for individuals with limited English proficiency across Intermountain Health facilities and virtual services.

This role requires professional medical interpreter qualifications and bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.

Key responsibilities:

- Interpret medical information with high accuracy and completeness

- Demonstrate expert knowledge of medical terminology and the healthcare system

- Act as a cultural mediator and provide unbiased interpretation

- Adhere to National Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice for Healthcare Interpreters

- Manage time productively and respond to requests in a timely manner

- Translate written material into one or more languages

Requirements:

- 40-hour Medical Interpreter course completion or 2+ years of professional interpreting experience or degree in related field

- Excellent oral and written command of English and Spanish

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks

Preferred qualifications:

- Two years of experience working as an interpreter in healthcare settings

- Bachelor's degree in Interpretation or Translation

- National certification as a Healthcare or Medical Interpreter
