We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer II to join our team in Raymond, Ohio. As an experienced Steering System Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing Steering Hardware parts and systems that meet targeted schedules and deliver outstanding performance, quality, reliability, value, and enjoyment to Honda's customers.

**Key Accountabilities:**

- Lead, mentor, and oversee junior engineers assigned for steering design PICs as a chief or group leader.

- Achieve Performance, Quality, Cost and Delivery Targets by thinking critically and applying fundamental engineering principles to complex targets.

- Plan and coordinate activities with other design, test, factory, purchasing, and suppliers.

- Create own schedules with milestones and trigger points, and share with related groups.

- Lead meetings and/or give constructive thoughts along with keeping track of open items.

- Review costs to ensure they meet the design intentions and provide solutions if they do not.

- Model parts and systems in 3D and release 2D drawings and specifications using CATIA & MS Office.

**Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:**

- Must have a college-level Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical or Automotive engineering.

- At least 5 or more years of relevant experience in automotive component or engineering project management component and system design experience, or closely related.

- Must have demonstrable automotive industry sector experience.

- CAD software (CATIA V5/V6).

- Kinematics or closely related.

- Should have good Microsoft Office Suite of applications skills (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

**Workstyle:**

- This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
