## Description

This Engineering Co-op/Intern role is available in 15 locations for the Summer 2027 session (May-August). The position offers a salary range of $27.22-$35.22 per hour.

The Engineering Co-op/Intern program at Honda provides college students with hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines. As an intern, you will work on real-world projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and gain valuable skills.

**Responsibilities:**

- Manufacturing & Operations:

+ Support equipment, process, quality, and new model activities in manufacturing areas such as Assembly, Weld, Paint, Stamping, Casting, and Machining   + Install new tooling, design and build end-of-arm tooling, and program robots   + Assist with project management, track daily processes, and analyze manufacturing problems   + Research new technologies and implement improvement countermeasures

- Quality & Testing:

+ Assist with vehicle and component testing for systems such as chassis, brakes, and electrical systems   + Develop and execute test procedures, create fixtures, and validate methods   + Recreate failures to determine root cause and verify countermeasures   + Analyze warranty and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities

- Facilities & Infrastructure:

+ Update and maintain 2D and 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings for facilities and utilities   + Support analysis and design of sanitation, HVAC, building pressure, power, and lighting systems   + Assist with infrastructure modification designs and improvement solutions

- Tooling, Equipment & Automation:

+ Design manufacturing equipment and tooling using 2D and 3D CAD systems   + Specify electrical hardware, controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and safety requirements   + Support equipment installation, validation, and troubleshooting activities

- Research, Design & Product Engineering:

+ Support design engineers in developing future models, components, and systems   + Assist with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) modeling, drawing creation, and design change requests   + Perform cost, weight, and feasibility calculations

- Purchasing & Supplier Support:

+ Assess supplier process capabilities and support problem reporting and countermeasure implementation   + Calculate part and tooling costs for injection-molded automotive parts   + Verify and evaluate effectiveness of supplier corrective actions

- Materials, Welding & Laboratory Support:

+ Support mass production and new model activities through failure analysis and materials testing   + Prepare samples for metallurgical testing and perform mechanical and metallurgical tests

**Requirements:**

- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

- General Engineering coursework

- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher

- Class status: Sophomore (by credit hour) or above

- Availability to work a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours per week

- Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program studying Mechanical Engineering or related field

- Valid U.S. Driver's License (exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis)

- Ability to provide own transportation to and from work each day
