## Description

We are seeking an exceptional and strategic leader to shape our Corporate Portfolio Office and Business Management function at a pivotal point in its development. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Digital and Innovation Officer and will bring together portfolio leadership, programme delivery, and business management to create a modern, ambitious function.

The role involves building on strong foundations with an established team already in place, while having genuine scope to set the direction and make a significant impact. The ideal candidate will develop new service strands, build fresh capabilities, and bring together talented, curious, and motivated people who want to make a difference.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing portfolio leadership, programme delivery, and business management capability

- Ensuring clarity, grip, and momentum to deliver the Council's most important priorities

- Leading complex, high-profile programmes that create measurable impact

- Building a confident, connected function built on collaboration, accountability, and high standards

- Working closely with senior leaders, elected members, partners, and suppliers

The successful candidate will be a visible, credible, and highly strategic leader with substantial experience of steering large-scale, complex portfolios, programmes, and business management functions in a demanding and politically aware environment. They will possess exceptional leadership, judgement, and stakeholder management skills, with the authority to build trusted relationships and influence at the highest levels of the organisation.
