## Description

We are seeking a Vice President to lead the architectural design and end-to-end delivery of mission-critical post-trade systems, covering clearing, settlement, and collateral management of financial instruments.

You will manage a team of developers, drive technical excellence, and deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions across the full software development lifecycle, including production support.

**Responsibilities:**

- Lead solution architecture and system design for high-availability, high-throughput post-trade platforms and services.

- Take full ownership and accountability for delivery across the SDLC (requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation); manage delivery across complex stakeholder groups.

- Drive parallel delivery across multiple workstreams by planning, prioritising, and coordinating resources across internal teams and vendors where applicable.

- Provide engineering leadership on modern backend practices (microservices, cloud/container, messaging/streaming) and enforce coding, security, and quality standards.

- Collaborate with cross-functional technology and business teams to translate requirements into robust technical designs and implementation approaches.

- Manage production support of mission-critical system, lead production incident and problem management (investigation, resolution, root cause analysis and prevention) and drive continuous improvement for stability and performance.

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in system design and development.

- Minimum 5 years in a management and/or technical leadership capacity, with proven experience leading developers and owning delivery outcomes.

- Strong problem-solving skills, with an analytical mindset and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

- Strong track record delivering mission-critical systems with complex stakeholder environments; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Java engineering, including API design, concurrency, performance tuning, and troubleshooting production issues.

- Strong experience with microservice architecture, containers/Kubernetes, messaging/streaming (e.g. Kafka, ActiveMQ), Linux and database; solid understanding of cloud-native patterns is preferred.

- Familiarity with modern DevOps/engineering toolchains (e.g., source control, CI/CD, unit/integration testing, static analysis, artifact management) and quality practices.

- Prior experience in vendor management and application security (e.g. OAuth2, API security, etc.) would be an advantage.
