## Description

In Risk Tech at Capital One, we develop data-driven tools using machine learning to prevent risks and detect issues. We're seeking a Full-stack Engineer 4 to lead projects and a team, focusing on distributed microservices and full-stack systems.

**What You'll Do:**

- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full-stack systems.

- Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and mentor other engineers.

- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions.

- Use programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams, setting standards for design, development, and operations.

- Partner with architects to define service boundaries and integration patterns.

- Identify areas for improvement, refactor code, and contribute to reducing technical debt.

- Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices.

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- At least 4 years of software engineering experience.

- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms like AWS.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- 7+ years of experience coding with multiple languages.

- Experience with database management systems, AWS, and cloud-based productivity tools.

- Experience contributing to open-source frameworks and with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.

**Salary Information:**

- McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100 per year

- New York, NY: $215,200 - $245,600 per year
