## Description

Join Cisco's Network Device Security Organization to help protect over 50 million live network devices. The team designs, reviews, and verifies security across Cisco's network device portfolio.

Your role involves creating threat models, reviewing device architectures and code, and translating recurring weakness classes into secure patterns and reusable engineering controls. You will collaborate with engineers across functions, cultures, and geographies, using AI-enabled workflows to improve security delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

- Developing threat models and security reviews

- Assessing and improving the security of embedded or IoT network devices

- Using CWE hardware and software weakness hierarchies to identify root causes and recurring patterns

- Applying MITRE EMB3D, OWASP IoT guidance, or comparable device-security frameworks to threat modeling and remediation

- Collaborating with engineers across functions, cultures, and geographies

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field with 7 years of related experience; master's with 4 years; or PhD with 1 year

- Experience delivering threat models, security reviews, and reusable controls or patterns

- Experience assessing and improving the security of embedded or IoT network devices

- Experience using CWE hardware and software weakness hierarchies and applying MITRE EMB3D, OWASP IoT guidance, or comparable device-security frameworks

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience collaborating with engineers across functions, cultures, and geographies

- Experience applying systems thinking and risk exposure to prioritise security work

- Experience building agentic workflows that integrate models, tools, and engineering data

- Experience developing static-analysis rules, secure APIs or wrappers, or CI/CD guardrails

The starting salary range for this position is $167,700.00 to $245,200.00, reflecting the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations.
