## Description

The Payroll Accountant is responsible for the overall processing and maintenance of the ship's payroll records and salary wages. They ensure the effective processing of Hotel and Beverage Service Charges flows through the Payroll System. As the Onboard Brightwell Representative, they are responsible for program implementation and maintenance. Oversight of Time and Attendance System.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the Payroll Accountant will also:

- Ensure all payroll, premiums, Hotel and Beverage Service Charges earnings, deductions, corrections, and other manual payroll entries are recorded in the Payroll System.

- Process and administer repatriating crew payroll.

- Ensure month-end payroll processing is completed and reported in a timely manner.

- Communicate accordingly with shore-side Payroll and Human Resources.

They will also provide two hours of service each evening to all crew members within the HR Office to respond to all payroll inquiries.

The Payroll Accountant will operate the Global Foreign Currency (GFC) exchange program during non-North America itineraries, ensuring compliance with required procedures and reporting, and ensuring all users receive adequate and ongoing training in foreign cash handling and the GFC program usage.

They will supervise all cash floats, ensuring that float count procedures are being followed by all float holders and that all float holders receive continuous cash handling training and supervision.

The Payroll Accountant will monitor the administration related to the Fidelio Time and Attendance module.

They will assist and attend to crew payroll inquiries, provide Daily Draws for all applicable staff, and coordinate with shore-side payroll as appropriate.

The Payroll Accountant will ensure all SEA-Wire and Direct Deposit information is relayed to the Payroll Department and follow up on any issues that may arise.

They will process Allotment as required, maintain accurate records in the System, and submit corresponding files to the shore-side office for processing.

The Payroll Accountant will monitor the daily and weekly working hours of all crew members onboard through the Time and Attendance modules.

They will process monthly Insurance (INS) and Short Term Disability (STD) reporting.

The Payroll Accountant will interpret and advise Officers and Crew regarding Shipboard policies/procedures and benefits, in conjunction with Human Resources Manager (depending on the issue).

They will verify the validity of all expense claims submitted by team members, coordinate with Finance Manager for payment.

The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for following all applicable Onboard Accounting Policies.

They will process payroll data and reports as applicable in respective Onboard Systems.

The Payroll Accountant will conduct audits for all Cash Float Holders, report the results and variances to the Finance Manager for further action.

They will balance/bank out each Cash Float holder daily, ensuring optimal cash preservation and control, and provide all monies to Finance Manager for booking into Cashbook.

The Payroll Accountant will maintain positive, effective, and respectful working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and officers within and across department boundaries.

They will comply with company policy regarding waste separation and environmental compliance.

The Payroll Accountant must be familiar and adhere with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for their position.

They will uphold and display high standards of professionalism, integrity, honesty, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.

The Payroll Accountant will actively promote the use of the Company's proprietary Navigator App and be responsible for acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively assist guests with the workings of the App.

They will perform other logically related duties as assigned or as directed.

## Skills

### Required
- College or University degree/diploma in Administration/Accounting, Hospitality, or related field
- Minimum 2 year experience in the Hospitality Industry in Financial administrative positions showing progressive growth in responsibility
- Marlins score of 95 and above
- Strong analytical and management skills
- Prior shipboard experience covering skills related to the payroll position
- Commitment to follow established policies and procedures
- Able to work independent in order to perform objective audit and reporting tasks
- Able to work well and communicate effectively with shipboard personnel
- Ability to multi-task and handle constantly changing priorities
- Leadership, training and organizational skills demonstrated through past experience
- Ability to keep information confidential at all times
- Strong communication skills including written and verbal English communication
- Working knowledge of computers and the ability to navigate within a variety of software programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of database programs and the ability to work with these types of programs proficiently
