## Description

KENS-TV San Antonio, a CBS affiliate owned by TEGNA, seeks an innovative News Producer to shape daily newscasts. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, motivated journalist who works well within a team to bring the truth to growing audiences across platforms.

Responsibilities:

- Pitch compelling stories using natural curiosity

- Showcase creativity and storytelling skills

- Craft stories of all lengths on all platforms for specific audiences

- Meet daily deadlines

- Combine live pictures, graphics, video, and sound to create engaging experiences

- Provide continuous coverage on live streams for breaking news and community events

- Try new things after discussion with supervisors

- Drive content with impactful and emotional conversations

- Use data analytics to shape show content

- Challenge traditional methods

- Ensure diverse voices and perspectives in the show

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience

- 1-3 years of news content experience

- Excellent communication skills

- Solid journalistic judgment and news philosophy emphasizing accuracy, fairness, and unique local content

- Understanding of professional journalism tenets

- Producing engaging newscasts and digital content skills

- Strong social media presence

- Organizational skills and ability to work under time pressure

- Ability to handle live, breaking news situations calmly

- ENPS and Edius system experience preferred
