## Description

Join School in the Square's "Relationships-First" team as a Middle School Math Teacher.

We are seeking a dedicated, mission-aligned teacher to join our team at School in the Square, a community-rooted model serving Washington Heights and Inwood. As a Middle School Math Teacher, you will report to our Principal and collaborate with a diverse and committed School Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure high academic standards while focusing on the social-emotional needs of all students.

Responsibilities:

- Teach math to students in grades 6-8 using current teaching methods and educational pedagogy

- Use interactive, hands-on, and creative learning approaches

- Incorporate technology to support instruction

- Use assessments to drive instruction

- Differentiate curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners

- Implement co-teaching strategies and ELL strategies

- Build strong relationships with students and colleagues

- Be familiar with restorative practices, anti-racism education, culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy, and trauma-informed practices

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant content area

- Valid New York State Teaching Certification or willingness to obtain within two years

- Strong communication and planning skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
