## Description

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Digital Checkout (DCO) team, which owns the services behind Add to Cart, View Cart, and Checkout for Target.com and the Target app. As a Senior Engineer, you will serve as a specialist in the engineering team that supports the product, helping to develop and gain insight into the application architecture.

You will design and implement production-quality services, evaluate new technologies for fit, maintainability, and cost, and turn proof-of-concept work into systems the team can run. You will lead code and design reviews, testing, and debugging, and take part in building, automating, and releasing changes that meet architectural and operational standards.

Key responsibilities:

- Coach other engineers through complex technical issues

- Maintain technical knowledge within your areas of expertise

- Stay current with new and evolving technologies through formal training and self-directed learning

Requirements:

- 4-year degree or equivalent experience

- 5+ years of software development experience

- Strong domain knowledge of Target's technology capabilities

- Working knowledge of service configuration and deployment

- Designs new testing methods and resolves technical issues with minimal assistance

- Strong proficiency in Kotlin/Java, including building services with Micronaut/Spring Boot

- Clearly communicates Agile concepts to partners within the product team

- A solid understanding of how their own work affects the team and guests

- Writes and organizes code across services and frameworks, including distributed systems where throughput and latency matter

- Delivers high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure services with broad impact
